Summer Institute for College Admissions for Rising Seniors

This institute is designed for rising seniors who will be applying to four year colleges in fall of 2016. With an organized format that will allow students to explore college options and plan all that will be necessary to begin, work on and finish applications in a timely manner by the early fall of the senior year. Summer is a great time to organize the process and get an early start on critical aspects of college admissions – from the search, comparison, and final identification of schools that will be applied to. Time frames, deadlines, SAT and ACT planning, college essays and activity resumes will all be addressed during this week-long institute. It will be taught by professional college advisers and English instructors with editing experience.

Conversational World Languages/High School

Camp will present opportunities to learn conversational basis on a number of world languages including Spanish, French, Italian, Mandarin Chinese and more. Emphasis is on the joy of learning a different language other than English, and to understand the connections to culture, global outlooks, and human understanding. There will be fun activities and practice opportunities that will deepen interests in world languages and related issues. Outcomes will include the ability to speak a modest amount of one or more of a new language and a curiosity of other languages and cultures.

Essay & Written Expression Camp

Students will enhance and strengthen writing skills for the many imperatives they face: college app & scholarship essays, writing portions for SAT & ACT, college level writing and more. It will also include activities to enhance and deepen current writing skills with a variety of methods: Creative writing, short stories, articles and alternative modalities will be included. The class will be taught in interactive small groups with talented and inspiring English teachers.

Cost: $99 for five Wednesdays of your choice; $35 or each additional session

For Middle School Students

Career & Interest Adventures (CIA)

This camp is a set of experiences that allow middle school students to explore and experience careers and interests with a variety of activities throughout the week. Guest speakers, field trips, small group activities, and projects will all be included along with interest assessment and talent identification. A wide range of interesting careers will be presented.
